How would you describe EVERINGHAM & WATSON?
Australiana, colour, character, timeless design.

What was your childhood dream?
Susie: To be an actress.
Liz:To be an artist.

What led you down your current path?
Our paths are so varied! We both started at the same secondary school. Susie went on to study Business and Law and Liz studied Visual Arts and then Graphic Design. We both worked in these fields for many years before coming together to start E&W. We decided we wanted to explore together a path that was creative, our own and that we were passionate about.

What do you love most about what you do?
We love working our own hours, our new designs becoming product reality, feedback from customers, merchandising and the drinks to celebrate each small win!

Where do feel most inspired?
Susie: In discussion with interesting people who are doing what they love and enjoying talking about it.
Liz: In my studio late at night!

Who do you admire?
Susie: Parents of disabled and sick children. Hard sloggers.
Liz: People who give it a go and persist.

What challenges have you had to overcome?
Both of us have other jobs, Liz is part time in The Asia Pacific Design Library at SLQ and Susie has a young family and also lectures in Law.

Balancing the business with the rest of our lives! Our two greatest challenges would be time and each other! We are also such old friends that our relationship is more like sisters, so it’s quite dynamic at times!

What's been a 'pinch yourself' moment?
The launch of our website and the first 24 hours of trading and the feedback we received during that process.

What are your top creative resources?
2. Any good interiors magazines
3. Travel

What is your idea of happiness?
Susie: The family in the pool together having fun on a hot day, while drinking good champagne.
Liz: Saturday morning papers, good food and great mates.
