nathan and jaynie johnson of blacklist studio prints
Created by dreamers (Jaynie and Nathan Johnson)for dreamers, the lastest collection from blacklist studio prints - Young Hearts, is all about love. It is easy to see their inspiration is heavily influenced by a love of great design, typography, a little boho chic and lots of music. Who knew lyrics could look so good! One of their older prints below always makes me smile. If your walls are in need of a little love check out their entire collection here you'll be smitten.
How would you describe yourself?
Dreamer, spontaneous, kind, relaxed and driven.

What was your childhood dream?
To have a family.

What led you down your current path?
Meeting my husband Nathan was the catalyst for all the lovely and good things in my life....and then becoming a mother led us on this current path.....

What do you love most about what you do?
Doing it with the one I love.

Where do feel most inspired?
In the garden and when we travel.

Who do you admire?
Definitely a load of people.

What challenges have you had to overcome?
The fact that there are never enough hours in the day, so learning to delegate certain roles....having amazing people around us helps us to be able to do this....asking for help...that's been the biggest challenge to overcome.

What's been a 'pinch yourself' moment?
Oh boy.....for us our everyday, the mundane, comings and goings of life seem very surreal to us....we get to live in the most amazing area, with the most wonderful people, being able to make a living doing what we love. The fact that our family is involved in the adventure makes it even sweeter.

What are your top creative resources?
hmmmmm.....blogs: design sponge and the selby (always those two)
Book: Palms and also my Sister Corita gets referenced often....
Music: Bob Stamper.

What is your idea of happiness?
Loving the ones you live with.

What's next?
A holiday....and then a new range will be out in February 2013.....between then and now, we will be releasing a bunch of small edition screen prints....and hopefully an exhibition of Nathan's paintings somewhere soon too.
